Nick Zadrozny on ElasticSearch & Tire:

Nick will present the basics of Search Engine technology, Full-text indexing, ElasticSearch and the Tire DSL/client.

ElasticSearch is a fast, painless to setup and a completely schema-free search solution built on top of Apache's popular Lucene search engine. ElasticSearch provides a scalable, distributed, cloud-ready, highly-available, full-text search engine and database with powerful aggregation features, communicating by JSON over RESTful HTTP.

Tire exposes easy-to-use domain specific language for fluent communication with ElasticSearch. It easily blends with your ActiveModel/ActiveRecord classes for convenient usage in Rails applications.

The group meets at 6:30pm on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at ASU SkySong, 1475 N Scottsdale Rd Room #249, Scottsdale, AZ (480) 884-1860
