Brian Sam-Bodden on Server-side Push:

Server-side browser push technologies have been around for a while in one way or another. From crude browser polling to Flash enabled frameworks. In this session you'll get an overview of the state of the current browser push technologies and we'll work through a couple of examples of when and how to implement server-side push.

Come and learn about Comet, Websockets, SSE (Server-side Events) and more.

The group meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at around 6:30PM at ASU SkySong/HackSpace , 1475 N Scottsdale Rd # 150, Scottsdale, AZ (480) 884-1860

About The Presenters:

Brian Sam-Bodden

Brian (@bsbodden ) from Integrallis Software is a developer, author and speaker that has spent most of his life building software in a variety of languages. Since 2005 his concentration has been on the Ruby programming language and the Ruby on Rails framework (although he still gets paid to do Java when no one is watching although he tends to spread a nice layer of JRuby on it to make it palatable).
